Summary

Amends the

Migration Act 1958
to repeal provisions which require a detainee to be kept in immigration detention unless a court finally determines that the detention is unlawful or that the detainee is not an unlawful non-citizen.

We acknowledge the traditional owners and custodians of country throughout Australia and acknowledge their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to the people, the cultures and the elders past, present and emerging.
